Weddings at Sudeley Castle

Sudley Castle Wedding - Alison and Ryan

Alison and Ryan fell in love with Sudeley Castle for their Cotswold wedding celebration, a beautiful venue that was voted “The most romantic castle in England” by The Cotswolds Awards

Alison and Ryan were lucky enough to enjoy two wedding celebrations; Part 1 was lovingly planned by Alison’s parents, which consisted of a traditional Chinese tea and wedding celebration hosted in London’s China Town, before Part 2, which took place near Cheltenham, where the couple first met….

Sudeley Castle weddings are synonymous with elegance and romance and the beauty of the castle gardens in the Summer set the tone for the day with pretty pastels featuring heavily and the bride even wore a blush pink wedding dress, brought from Wedding Days in Cheltenham.

Alison looked beautiful in her blush wedding dress and Ryan looked rather dapper in his suit brought from Regency Groom in Cheltenham

On the morning of the wedding, Ryan and his groomsmen were driven to the castle in a fabulous vintage bus, hired from Alex cars in Cirencester, with a majority of the wedding guests, who gathered on the castle terrace,  before taking a short walk to St Mary’s chapel, which is located within the grounds of the castle. Alison and her bridesmaids had hired one of the cottages in the grounds for the weekend, which meant that they were able to have a relaxing morning with Hair Stylist Kat Yoshi hair and Makeup Artist  Di McDonald  before walking to the church across the castle grounds for the wedding blessing.

…. and a silver sixpence in her Charlotte Mills Shoes!

The chapel was styled with beautiful floral displays inside and out, by the team from Lilyfee Floral Designs, not only did the church look really pretty, the scent from the numerous arrangements was also heavenly. Two baskets of confetti were left outside the chapel doors,  so that when the newly weds left the church, they were showered with rose petals. Guests then enjoyed a Champagne and Canape reception in the Queen’s garden and Mulberry lawn, entertained by string quartet Bellini Strings

Dinner was served in the castle pavillion, with guests walking through the great hall to collect their favours – miniature bottles of pink Champagne for the ladies and beer for the gents, as well as Mr & Mrs sun glasses and personalised fans – perfect for a hot Summers evening in the Cotswold’s!

Both the bride and groom are real “foodies” and, as Ryan is a talented chef, food was really really important to them. The awesome team at Wesley House Events surpassed themselves with delicious food and impeccable service.

A stunning floral framed table plan directed guests to their tables, which were dressed with high and low table flowers – arched by the adjoining door to the great hall was a beautifully hand crafted bespoke designed blush wedding cake from Curtis and Co Cakes, which guests enjoyed later in the evening.

After dinner, The Wedding Smashers and the couples favourite band DUKE took to the stage and guests partied into the early hours.  The sides of the pavilion were opened so that guests could wander onto the candlelit terrace and enjoy the stunning views over the estate and much fun was had by all in the The Funpod Photobooth.
